As an avid believer and practitioner of mindfulness, I thought I would share an exercise that can help you achieve and maintain mindfulness when you need it most.
This exercise can be used when you are stressed, anxious or fearful about something. I think of it as a booster shot. Take a moment and carefully study yourself to see what is bothering you. Notice all the signals, no matter how faint.
Now that you identified these signals, mind irritants, start dealing with them. If there is something you can do now, do it. If you can’t do anything now, tell yourself that.
After you do this exercise, you will be less stressed because you have identified and dealt with your stressors. You will also have greater clarity and brain power than before the exercise.
As you do this exercise more and more, it does become easier.
