Growing up

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
1 Corinthians 13:11

I used this verse in my radio show on Tuesday and it has been weighing on me since then. So, I am writing this.

Everyone gets old, not everyone gains maturity.  Some still do things as a child, thinking and acting like a child.

It is our responsibility to gain maturity as we get older. To put away the ways of childhood and to be responsible.

Childhood behaviors Adult behaviors
Blaming others Taking ownership of our actions
Partying all night Getting home at a normal time to be able to work the next day
Peer pressure Standing up to friends for what is right
Doing what you want Putting the wants and needs of others first

Growing up, maturity, means being responsible for your life and actions. While it may not be as fun as being a child, it is part of life. Everything has a season, a time in your life.
