When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
1 Corinthians 13:11
I used this verse in my radio show on Tuesday and it has been weighing on me since then. So, I am writing this.
Everyone gets old, not everyone gains maturity. Some still do things as a child, thinking and acting like a child.
It is our responsibility to gain maturity as we get older. To put away the ways of childhood and to be responsible.
|Childhood behaviors||Adult behaviors|
|Blaming others||Taking ownership of our actions|
|Partying all night||Getting home at a normal time to be able to work the next day|
|Peer pressure||Standing up to friends for what is right|
|Doing what you want||Putting the wants and needs of others first|
Growing up, maturity, means being responsible for your life and actions. While it may not be as fun as being a child, it is part of life. Everything has a season, a time in your life.
